We take the safety and comfort of our younger clients seriously. Please read the following before making a booking for a child aged 10 to 16.
- A parent or legal guardian must be contactable by phone throughout the appointment.
- The parent or guardian's full name and contact number are required at the time of booking.
- A guardian may wait in our comfortable waiting area during the appointment.
- Clients who are 17 or older on the day of the appointment will be charged adult prices.
- Adding curls to braids is R100 extra and must be requested at booking.

Why gentle technique matters for younger hair
Young scalps and hairlines are more sensitive than adult hair — tighter tension, excessive heat and harsh products can cause lasting damage that shows up years later. Every tween appointment at Booked & Beautiful uses the same low-tension, scalp-conscious technique we apply to adult clients, with extra care given to the hairline, edges and nape of the neck. We will never rush a tween appointment to fit more clients into the day.
Services available for tweens include knotless braids, box braids, cornrows, straight backs, wash and blow dry, scalp treatments and styling services — all at tween pricing for clients aged 10 to 16. Curls can be added to braids for R100 extra, requested at booking. We are based in Willow Park Manor, Pretoria East, serving families from Silver Lakes, Equestria, Faerie Glen and Woodhill.

What parents ask before booking
Does a parent need to be present?
A parent or legal guardian must be contactable by phone for the full duration of the appointment. You are welcome to wait in our comfortable waiting area. Your full name and contact number are required at booking.
What styles are available for tweens?
Knotless braids, box braids, cornrows, straight backs, washes, scalp treatments and styling services are all available at tween pricing. Curls can be added to braids for R100 extra — request this at booking.
Is the technique gentler for younger clients?
Yes. We use low-tension installation for all clients and are especially careful with young scalps. We monitor comfort throughout and will adjust tension immediately if your child signals any discomfort. We do not rush tween appointments.
How long does a tween braids appointment take?
Duration varies by style and size. Cornrows and straight backs can take 1–2 hours. Knotless and box braids typically take 3–5 hours for tweens. Appointment duration is shown before you confirm your booking.
Does my child need to come with washed hair?
No. A wash and blow dry is included with all braiding services. Your child can arrive as they are. We handle everything from scalp prep to the finished style.
What if my child is 17?
Clients who are 17 or older on the day of their appointment are charged adult prices. Please book via our adult braids page or WhatsApp us for assistance.
